As the 10th edition of this iconic event inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 10th, 2024, at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar with a subject of ‘Gateway to the Future,’ the peak dreams to enthrall conversations on sustainable enhancement, financial smash, and worldwide cooperation.

The Vibrant Gujarat Summit, envisioned by then Chief Minister Narendra Modi in 2003, transcended its initial intent of attracting investments. It metamorphosed into a global platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and forging strategic partnerships. • Announced record-breaking MoUs: Signed for 41,299 projects worth $324.123 billion, surpassing $554.838 billion in total commitments across 98,540 projects since the summit’s inception.
• Expressed optimism about the summit’s role in propelling Gujarat’s global standing and partnerships.
• Highlighted the event’s contribution to achieving Prime Minister Modi’s vision of “Developed India@2047” through investments in emerging sectors like semiconductors, e-mobility, green hydrogen, and renewable energy.

Specific Highlights:

• Inaugural Speech: I warmly welcomed delegates from over 130 countries, celebrating India’s successful G20 presidency and Prime Minister Modi’s global vision.
• MSME Conclave: Emphasized the “Vibrant Gujarat, Vibrant District” approach to encourage and support small industries across the state.
• Semiconductor Industry: Reaffirmed Gujarat’s commitment to becoming a hub for the semiconductor industry, citing the swift allocation of land to Micron in Sanand as an example.

International Confidence and Diverse Investments

“The 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit witnessed a plethora of visionary leaders and global conglomerates converging to discuss and announce groundbreaking initiatives that are set to reshape India’s industrial landscape.”

Reliance is still a major player in Gujarat’s growth.

Mukesh Ambani, expressing pride in his Gujarati roots, emphasized the significant role Gujarat plays in shaping the narrative of a new India. He credited PM Modi as the architect of Gujarat’s success, hailing him as the most successful Prime Minister in India’s history.

Speaking about Reliance’s commitment to Gujarat, Ambani stated, “Reliance was, is, and will always remain a Gujarati company.” He revealed that the conglomerate had invested over $150 billion in creating world-class assets across India in the last decade, with more than a third of this investment concentrated in Gujarat.

 Likewise, Reliance Diligence is erecting a green energy complex in Jamnagar, gauging 5,000 acres, and targeting finishing touches in 2024. This complex is ready to end up as a spot for renewable electricity generation, storage, and distribution.

Mr. Ambani also expressed Reliance’s active help for India’s shot to host the 2036 Olympic Games, promising help with important experimental liabilities.

Adani Group’s Monumental Pledge

One of the peak’s vital moments turned out to be the Adani Group’s assertion, led through the operation of Gautam Adani, pledging a superb $24 billion investment in Gujarat over the following 5 years. This restraint spans essential sectors, which include renewable electricity, green hydrogen, anchorages, and structure, with the capacity to produce 100,000 new jobs inside the state. Mr. Adani also unveiled a $100 billion backing over 10 times to strengthen India’s transition towards green strength.

Tata Group’s Technological Leap

Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran made a groundbreaking announcement for the installation of an ultramodern semiconductor fabrication factory in Dholera, Gujarat. This ambitious challenge focuses on starting operations by the end of 2024.

Mr. Chandrasekaran underscored the impact of economic development on social progress, acknowledging Gujarat as the gateway to the future. He outlined Tata Group’s significant commitments to expanding their presence in the state, particularly in Sanand, where they are making strides in electric vehicle technology. Chandrasekaran announced plans to build a massive factory for 20 GW of lithium-ion batteries in Sanand, with construction set to commence in the next couple of months. This initiative aligns with India’s growing emphasis on sustainable and electric mobility solutions.

Ambitious plans by Suzuki 

Suzuki Motor Corporation, a global leader, introduced a huge backing of $4.22 billion in its Indian operations at its peak. This tone-control hobby is to set up a second product installation in Gujarat, projecting an annual manufacturing capability history of 0.4 billion with a useful resource of 2030–31.

Semiconductors:

• Tata Sons announced a “huge” semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera, marking their expanding footprint in Gujarat.
• Micron Technology: The first phase of the semiconductor assembly and testing facility in Sanand (500,000 sq ft of clean room space) is to be operational by early 2025.
• SIMMtech (a South Korean PCB manufacturer): investment of Rs 1,250 crore to establish a PCB manufacturing facility.

Green Technology:

• “Adani Group has committed $25 billion in investment in the green energy and renewable energy sectors over the next five years. This includes projects like a 25-square-kilometer green energy park in Kutch and expansions in solar panels, wind turbines, and green hydrogen production.’
• Suzuki Motor Corporation announced a $49 billion investment to establish a second manufacturing facility in Gujarat, focusing on electric vehicles and hybrid technology.
• Reliance Industries Limited: $7.0 billion investment in a petrochemical complex at Dahej with green initiatives.

Investment in various other industry sectors

• Tata Advanced Systems: Expansion of the C295 aircraft manufacturing plant from Vadodara to Dholera.
• Mahindra & Mahindra: $13.0 billion investment in electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing and infrastructure development.
• Hikal Ltd.: $774.83 million investment in plant enhancement for the pharma, crop protection, and animal health sectors.
• Suzuki Motor Corporation: Additional $4.0 billion investment in expanding electric vehicle production at an existing Gujarat facility.
