Monalisa Bhosle, Viral Sensation, Set for Bollywood Debut
Monalisa Bhosle, a 16-year-old girl from Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district, has expressed her gratitude as she prepares for her Bollywood debut. The young girl, who became an internet sensation during Mahakumbh 2025, shared her excitement in a video on X, thanking everyone for their support. “I can never forget the love and respect you all have given me,” she said.
Monalisa’s rise to fame began when a content creator captured her selling rudraksha garlands at Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. Her striking amber eyes and radiant smile quickly earned her the nickname “Mona Lisa,” and the video of her spread across social media, making her a well-known figure overnight. However, the sudden attention made it difficult for her to continue working, forcing her to leave Mahakumbh due to constant crowds and media interest.
Her grandfather, a resident of Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district, shared with ABP that Monalisa was struggling to sell her products in Prayagraj because people kept approaching her with cameras, preventing her from working.
Now, Monalisa is set to star in Diary of Manipur, directed by Sanoj Mishra, known for films like Ghaznavi and Srinagar. Mishra met Monalisa and her family at their home, securing their approval for her acting debut. Although she has no prior experience in acting, she is ready to take on the challenge. The director revealed that she will undergo acting workshops before filming begins in April.
Previously, when asked if she would consider acting, Monalisa had said she would be open to it if her parents allowed her. Now, with their support, she is stepping into Bollywood, marking a significant turn in her life’s journey.
