Editorial September 2017
Dear Readers,
For many of us, the summer was filled with wonderful events, engagements and weddings included. Attending these festive occasions reminds us of the joy in finding a partner and starting life’s journey together. Congratulations to all the newlyweds and newly engaged couples out there!
This month as with all weddings issues, we bring you real wedding stories filled with touching stories and unique proposals. If you’re looking for ideas on venues, colors, or unique touches, be sure to read this issue’s stories.
Though discussing finances is not always at the top of of any newly engaged couple or newlywed’s list, it’s important to be on the same page when it comes to money and your future. Finance column contributor Rajesh Jyotishi offers couples some tips on starting the discussion.
This month, guest contributor Nisha Jani asks some brides questions you’re all wondering about! She shares firsthand advice from brides on managing the planning process as well as your mental health and stress levels!
Switching gears a bit, Aruna and I want to congratulate the 2017 Community Leader Awardees. The annual Awards Gala is by far one of our favorite events of the year. This year’s awardees are like their predecessors – all are committed to preserving and promoting our culture and even more so to helping those in need. Read the bios in this issue to learn more about these incredible individuals.
We had a great time at the MyShadi Bridal Expo in Atlanta last month. It’s not over yet, we have one more show this year in Orlando on Sunday, September 10. We’ll be at the Hilton Orlando from 12 noon – 5 pm, so be sure to register to attend online at www.myshadibridalexpo.com. As usual, admission and parking are free to the shows, and the best part? Getting to meet with a wide range of event planning vendors all in the same place. Imagine all the planning you can finalize in one afternoon, leaving more time to enjoy being a couple! So stop by, and get ahead of that wedding to-do list! We can’t wait to meet excited couples!
Happy Reading!
