Editorial March 2012
March 2012
Dear Readers,
Before I begin discussing this month’s wedding issue, let me share our personal joy with all of you as our extended family members. We now have one more addition in our family. My son and daughter-in-law welcomed a baby girl to the family on February, 21. Aruna and I cannot express our happiness. She and our older granddaughter are the family princesses! As one of our friends pointed out, we are now a double-digit family. To everyone who had called, emailed, or texted us, we want to thank all of you for your good wishes.
Now let me turn to the current issue of Desh-Videsh. We are excited to present our first wedding issue of 2012. Due to popular demand, we are now going to publish four wedding issues in 2012 – March, June, September and December. Similarly, you have asked us to publish more real wedding stories, so in this issue, we bring you five stories about wonderful couples. In addition to the real wedding stories, we also present an article about doing wedding shopping in India.
Several newlyweds, their family members and some wedding professionals have asked us how we can include their story. All we need are the bride and groom’s name, phone numbers, and e-mail address as well as the wedding date. Our editorial department will contact them and work with them to create a wedding story. The sooner you can send us the information, the sooner we can start working. As a matter of fact, a few of our wedding professional customers send us an e-mail with the above details as soon as they finish a wedding or as soon as they post the event to their blog or website.
We are also pleased to announce a new section in Desh-Videsh called “Where are They Now.” We will be following up with couples featured in our wedding stories from past Desh-Videsh wedding Issues. In this issue, we touch base with Nilu Patel who had a baby, On behalf of Desh-Videsh, I congratulate them and wish then a happy, healthy and long life.
Speaking of weddings, lets not forget about our upcoming MyShadi Bridal Expos. As you know, planning of wedding starts with attending a well-organized bridal show, one that brings together not just a wide variety of vendors, but high quality vendors.
MyShadi Bridal Expos presented by Desh-Videsh do just that. All under one roof, newly engaged couples and their families have access to all the vendors you may need to plan your “Big Day.” Please check out our articles on our two upcoming Bridal Expos, one in Atlanta and one in Fort Lauderdale. See you there!
