January 2009
Dear Readers,
Happy New Year! Everyone here at Desh-Videsh hopes you and your family brought the New Year in with much joy and love. In the coming year, we pledge to continue to bring you timely information about topics of interest to you. We start 2009 off with an issue about something everyone worries about – staying healthy!
Another year has come and gone, and yet some things never change. Parents worry about the health of their children and elderly parents, but probably don’t pay much attention to their own wellness. With pressures at work and the stress of a faltering economy, there has never been a better time to turn attention inwards.
Everyone is familiar with hypertension. We all know someone who deals with high blood pressure, and we probably think we will never have to worry about it. Think again – high blood pressure can affect anyone, and it can even be prevented with healthy nutrition and exercise.
Related to hypertension is the amount of stress we face in our everyday lives. Managing stress does not have to seem daunting. Stress can manifest itself in a myriad of symptoms including back pain, headaches, ulcers, and more. In this month’s issue, read more about how you can manage your stress through natural means.
Are you weary of going to the doctor for fear of walking out of the office with five prescriptions? Be sure to read the article about alternative medicines as a natural way to combat illness. For a more holistic approach to medicine, learn more about homeopathic medicine, which aims to treat the whole body rather than one symptom at a time.
As always, Desh-Videsh welcomes suggestions and comments. Let us know if you found this issue to be helpful in managing the struggles of everyday life and your health. Send us an e-mail with your questions, comments, or suggestions to info@deshvidesh.com.
Happy Reading!
