Editorial December 2017
Dear Readers,
Do you know one of the best things for us living in the US? We enjoy the best of both the worlds, either good food, festivals or holidays.
For many, the festive season began in September with the start of Navratri, followed by Diwali, and the just-passed Thanksgiving. Still up – Christmas and finishing out the year with New Year’s Eve parties!
The festivities don’t end there – it’s also the season for spectacular Indian weddings! According to our MyShadi Bridal Expo survey, the average indian wedding lasts for three days, consists of four events, and costs $98,000 (compared to non-Indian weddings where they spend about $24,000). Of course, with Thanksgiving being a long weekend, it’s the perfect time for Indian weddings!
And so we end the year with our Wedding Resource edition. The real weddings featured in this issue are beautiful and truly show the couple’s personality! Proposals are certainly becoming more creative, so for those about to take the plunge, take note!
In this issue, Rina Shah (The Arpan Group) offers couples tips on selecting an entertainment vendor and shares advice from industry experts. With music and dancing an important part of our culture, you don’t want to miss these tips!
No Wedding issue would be complete without advice for couples – from beauty tips to must have beauty products as well as color trends, cocktail ideas, and Bollywood weddings, this issue has it all!
Congratulations to all the lucky couples out there! Here’s to easy wedding planning ahead!
