Dr. Sanjay S. Reddy Honoured with Faculty Award
Sanjay S. Reddy, MD, FACS, the Division Chief of Surgical Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, was recently honoured with the 2024 Medical Staff Executive Committee Faculty Citizenship Award. This accolade recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional connection, compassion, and dedication in their care.
Robert Uzzo, MD, MBA, FACS, President and CEO of Fox Chase, praised Dr. Reddy for his outstanding embodiment of the values the centre strives to uphold. “Dr. Reddy truly exemplifies the humanity, expertise, and quality of care we aspire to provide,” Uzzo remarked.
Since joining Fox Chase as a fellow in 2012, Dr. Reddy has been celebrated for his professionalism, dedication, and compassion. He chose to remain at Fox Chase due to the advanced cancer care offered and the institution’s commitment to progress in the field. “It is a tremendous honour to receive this award from an organisation that has allowed me to grow both as a clinician and an individual,” Reddy said.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Reddy holds several prominent roles at Fox Chase. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, serves as the Program Director for the Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship, and is Co-Director of the Marvin & Concetta Greenberg Pancreatic Cancer Institute. He also holds the Marvin S. Greenberg, MD, Chair in Pancreatic Cancer Surgery.
Dr. Reddy expressed gratitude for the support of his colleagues, stating, “Fox Chase Cancer Center is a powerhouse institution, and I’m endlessly thankful for the trust and support my colleagues have shown.” His contributions have been widely recognized, including being named a top doctor by Philadelphia magazine in 2023 and 2024 and earning the Society of Surgical Oncology’s Career Catalyst Mentorship Program Award. Reddy continues to advance the field through multidisciplinary clinical trials and remains a key figure in the Society’s fellowship training program.
The faculty citizenship award will further support Reddy’s patient-centred initiatives, reflecting the mission of Fox Chase to enhance cancer care and treatment.
