Cabinet nod to setting up AIIMS in Gorakhpur

The government on Wednesday gave its nod to the establishment of a new All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.

The Union Cabinet approved the setting up of AIIMS under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana at an estimated cost of over one thousand crore rupees.

The Union cabinet also approved a proposal for Ambuja Cements for acquisition of 24% shares in its holding company-Holcim. The Cabinet approved Neyveli Lignite’s plan for 1,980 mw coal-based plant in UP.
