Manoj Kumar to Earn 47th Dadasaheb Phalke Award

The Ministry of Information and Broadcast informed masses through Twitter of its decision to confer the Dadasaheb Phalke award to veteran actor Manoj Kumar. The esteemed actor has films like Woh Kaun Thi?, Hariyali Aur Raasta, Upkar, Do Badan, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, and more to his name. However, he is known for his scintillating Performance in patriotic films like Shaheed, Kranti and Purab Aur Paschim. Do to these patriotic performances, he has been nicknamed “Bharat Kumar.” In 2004, he retired from films to begin his career in politics under Shiv Sena. In 1992, he was also awarded with the Padma Shri honor.
