Ajay Devgan Hopeful of India’s Prospects in OTT Content
Eminent actor Ajay Devgan is extremely hopeful about the future of OTT content created by indigenous Indian content creators. Regarding OTT content, he is confident that Indian shows (such as his own) have the potential to become even more popular than international ones. This remark, and its optimism, hold special significance with respect to the OTT boom in India and the Indian audience’s great preference for OTT content.
Devgan is actively participating on the OTT platforms. Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness, which will premiere on Hotstar, will mark his OTT debut. He is also the producer of the web series The Great Indian Murder, which will be shown on Hotstar soon. In a media interview, he said that he and his team are working on several projects for OTT and that by the end of 2022 he will be able to bring more shows to OTT.
Regarding OTT, Ajay said that the platform provides a lot of freedom to the content creators. They can take on many themes and subjects that would not be possible in the big-screen format. Praising the rich and diverse culture of India, he said that Indian content creators can address a variety of subjects and content areas, and that such shows have the potential to exceed the popularity of international shows.
Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness is one of the greatest shows on Indian OTT. It is the Indian version of the popular British series Luther. Producers of Rudra are Applause Entertainment and BBC Studios India. In addition to featuring Ajay Devgan, its cast also includes Esha Deol, Raashi Khanna, Atul Kulkarni, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Ashish Vidyarthi.
