Goodbye 2017 and Welcome 2018! 2017 was a very exciting year for Desh Videsh Media Group, and we know that 2018 will be just as exciting! On behalf of the entire Desh Videsh Media Group team, I want to wish a Happy New Year and extend a heartfelt thanks to our readers, advertisers and supporters. May God Almighty bring you and your family a happy, prosperous and healthy 2018!

Speaking of prosperous, it is our pleasure to present a special edition of Desh-Videsh magazine on financial planning. In this issue, two young financial planning experts contributed articles. Nirali Choksi shares tips on tax planning and Anjee Mahabir does the same for insurance.

In keeping with our tradition of presenting facts in easy to understand format, we present a new section, Numbers for Financial Success.

Some of you saw me dressed as Modi ji at Sindhi Association Diwali Bash. It was a proud moment to dress like my most favorite leader, the Honorable Prime Minister of India! Check out the numbers page of Modi ji’s approval rating.

On January 26, 2018, we celebrate India’s 69th Republic Day. In this issue, we present an article on India’s progress. Addressing the nation in his last Mann ki Baat episode of the year, PM Modi ji said, “The Republic Day will be celebrated with leaders of all 10 ASEAN countries coming to India as chief guests. This is unprecedented in India’s history.” We are very proud of India, our Matruboomi and Honorable Prime minister of India Modi ji.
